Ljutomer naše mesto

The Municipality of Ljutomer, together with its partners the Trotting Club Ljutomer and Skupina Fabrika d.o.o., succeeded in the 2nd open call LAS Prlekija with the operation Enriching the Local Tourist Offer of the city of Ljutomer or abbreviated Ljutomer naše mesto. The total value of the operation is EUR 29,592.26 and 80% of the eligible costs are co-financed from the European Regional Development Fund.

Objectives of the operation

The goal of operation “LJUTOMER NAŠE MESTO” is to achieve a better recognition of the natural, cultural and historical heritage of the Ljutomer area and to integrate it into tourist products that cannot be achieved locally by everyone. Through a common market approach and the integration of natural and cultural heritage values and the local providers of tourist activities in the city of Ljutomer, partners wish to contribute to the visibility, increased quality and attractiveness and increase the number of city visits by the stationary and daily guests of the tourist centres, thus activating internal development potentials towards support of local tourism economy.

Main Activities

As part of the operation, partners and local providers will develop a joint tourism product of the city of Ljutomer, based on the characteristic and recognizable cultural, natural and historical heritage of the city of Ljutomer. For the purpose of improving the quality of tourist guiding, a training program for tourist guides throughout the city of Ljutomer will be implemented at the workshops. Most of the operation activities will be directed towards working with providers of tourist activities, who will be encouraged at the workshops and interviews to join the tourist offer. For the purpose of promotion and in support of marketing, a tourist catalogue of the town of Ljutomer will be issued, a promotional brochure on the topic of harness racing, web content will be prepared, information boards will be erected and an educational herbal park will be arranged in the park of the first Slovenian camp.

The operation was concluded in June 2018.
